Sharing the deeper cultural roots of China with the world

Our Story

Founding & Growth

Shonron was founded in Shanghai in 2018, and later established entities in Hong Kong and Hangzhou. From the beginning, our purpose has been to help the world feel the deeper cultural foundations of China.

With a deep understanding of both China and the wider world, and drawing on our family’s professional medical heritage, we developed the core philosophy of “Keep a Healthy Life” — creating health products and services that unite Eastern wellness wisdom with modern science.

We believe health is not a one-time treatment outcome, but a lifestyle built over time through nutrition, diet, and daily habits. That is why we pair products with services, accompanying people as they practice mind–body balance in everyday life.

Dual-Brand Structure

We primarily operate two brands: Shonron and Shyee, addressing emotional wellness and nutrition respectively.

  • Shonron — emotional wellness products for mood support, stress relief, sleep, and mental clarity
  • Shyee — health foods inspired by the food-as-medicine wisdom of the Huangdi Neijing and Yinshan Zhengyao

Both brands share one set of values: rooted in Eastern wisdom, lifted by modern science — making health understandable and actionable.

Social Responsibility

Drawing on our family’s medical background — among China’s first generation of private general hospitals in the 1990s — we have witnessed the growth of Chinese and Western medicine in China and long focused on elder wellness. For years we have carried the responsibility of care, healing, and compassion for society.

Shonron continues to give back, committing no more than 5% of annual net profit to charitable causes.
